We got a really cool countdown to Christmas calendar with big pockets - a must. Each day had candy for both of us (M&M's or a package of dots or Reese's PB cups) and a scripture to read. By the time we filled it up, the calendar was so heavy, Katsu had to rig some rubber bands to get the whole thing to stay up. A favorite tradition.
We also bought a new nativity set this year and are planning on adding a piece each year as a tradition. Enjoy!

It is so fun to see what others do for the holidays.
Our nativity set comes from Ann Arbor. The year we were in Detroit we were doing research at the UofM grad library in mid November and were window shopping in the shops near campus (the ones that are kind of indoors but not... I am not sure exactly where although I could take you there immediately.) I spotted this precious nativity set in a stationary type shop. It is quite tiny. I commented on how much I liked it. Justin went back to Ann Arbor between then and Christmas to get it for me. Very sweet of him. Next year, I'll have to get a picture.
I love those traditions, I'll have to try the nativity one next year. The candy calendar one is cute but knowing me, I'd sneak the candy from the other days! :-)
Hey Amanda! Long time, no see! I found your blog through Sarah's (where I seem to find everyone's blogs). Just thought I'd say hi! Looks like you guys had a good Christmas! Your nativity is really pretty and it kind of looks like ours. Is it a Fontanini one? We add a piece every year too. It's a fun tradition. Anyway, glad I "found" you! Hope you guys are doing well!
