Nov 2017 & Dec 2017
- Boys had ice skating lessons
- Finally had Logan's birthday party. Not a lot of kids but we had a pinata and had fun games and presents.
- Live nativity - our stake had a live nativity at our chapel. It was cold and crazy crowded. I went first with Noah while the boys had ice skating lessons. We waited in line for almost an hour, but it was fun once we got there. They had a whole Jerusalem town and then a nativity with animals - camels, sheep, donkeys, etc. It was so cold, but I'm glad we went and we'll have to go next year and go early. I couldn't believe how crowded it was.
- Play with my cousin Melissa - she had tickets and we went and saw a play (I forgot the title) about a man taking care of his daughter, somewhat disastrously. The best part was when he accidentally broke some test tubes right in front of us and then was blaming us for it! He did a good job of staying in character and taking care of the mess at the same time.
- I took the kids to see the Christmas market at This is the Place. It was somewhat disastrous. It was busy and crowded - the kids were bored - and the train was a mess. They didn't tell you when to get on or off and the kids got off early (but after other people got off) and got in trouble. Next year we are skipping it or Katsu is coming with us.
- Katsu and Seth went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They had a great time and thought it was really well done.
- Had Andrew's friend's family over for dinner. They brought sugar cookies to decorate for dessert. It was great.
- Celebrating advent with candles and treats.
- Ward Christmas party - some sort of Jerusalem thing ... we got there late and had to leave early because the kids were tired, but everyone liked the food.
- Katsu and I went to see the Nutcracker Redux and loved it. It was fun and Katsu didn't fall asleep (which was a first for his nutcracker performances).
- Katsu, Seth, and Logan went to see the speed-skating trials for the Olympics and loved it. Noah and Andrew and I watched it on TV but didn't see them. They loved seeing the future Olympians and it made the Olympics a lot more exciting.
- Friends from Greenville over
- Lab party for Christmas
- Curiosity Museum and Zoo - at least that I remember.
- Andrew's band/choir/orchestra concert at Uintah. Wow. The orchestra sounded pretty good (Andrew is playing violin this year, but sadly doesn't really enjoy it or the teacher). The band ... didn't even sound close to music. It was hard not to laugh. And Katsu kept on texting his colleague to laugh about it.
- Sarah, Danny, and Alex visited. We went sledding, visited Temple Square, shopping, visited the museum at Roy, and went to Thanksgiving Point and celebrated Christmas.
- We sent Christmas evening at Grandma's house. The boys were so excited to get presents from everyone and it was a great time. It snowed a bunch that evening and the way home was atrocious and then I got stuck on the way up the hill to the house. Finally, someone came by and hauled us home. What a night.
- Christmas was nice and cozy and snowy. We enjoyed opening presents with some books, some new toys (dominos, magnets, games, etc.) and had fun with family.
- We all (without Sarah's family) went to Park City to see the Nordic combined ski trials. It was so fun. The boys spent a lot of time visiting booths and getting free things and playing on the snow playground and getting face painted.
- New Year's Eve traditions ... watching Naussica.
