Last two weeks of June

June has been crazy around here!

Katsu started out the week in California.  He got home on Tuesday morning.  Monday, the boys didn't want to leave the house as it was the first real day of summer break, so we stayed at home, went swimming, and ate whatever the dregs of the pantry were.  We picked Katsu up on Tuesday morning and got ready for Seth's birthday party.  I made him a super yummy cake on Monday night, but took it out of the pan too soon and it broke into pieces, so we had to make him a new strawberry one on Tuesday.  His friends came over in the afternoon and then the 4 of them along with Logan went and played at AirU.  I think they had a lot of fun.  Then, they came home and had Papa John's pizza and cake and opened presents.  It was a nice low-key party.

Wednesday, we got ready in the morning and then the older 3 went to a friend's house (a very gracious friend), while Katsu, Noah, and I flew to Utah.  It was Noah's first plane trip, but he did great and loved having his own video player.  The flight took off late by at least an hour, so we got into Utah pretty late.  Noah fell asleep at the very end of the flight and was grumpy when I was carrying him and crying and wanting to go home.  Once we got him asleep in the hotel bed, it was better.

We spent the next day looking at houses in the morning / afternoon and then going out to eat and playing at the park with my friend Melissa from high school and her kids.  Noah was a great sport - he slept in the car while we looked at most houses, but liked the last one where he was awake because they had raspberry bushes.  Now, he keeps asking me to move there.  My boys are ruled by their stomachs.

Friday, we had interviews and such in the morning and Noah was a really good sport - he went and played at Katsu's colleagues' house with his wife and kids.  They had super hero toys and put on super hero videos and gave him tons of food and he was happy.  Katsu and I went out to lunch with another of Katsu's colleagues and then picked up Noah.  He fell asleep on the way back to the hotel and took a long nap.  Katsu had some more afternoon meetings and meanwhile, my grandparents came over to the hotel and we chatted for a few hours.  Then, we walked and got some dinner.

The next morning, we flew home and picked up all the boys who looked like they had a great time and had tons of mosquito bites!  Logan played more or less quietly with toys, they swam for hours every day and probably ate them out of house and home.  But, Andrew was well-behaved and praised her cooking and made sure none of them woke up too early, so I think every one did really well.

Sunday was a quiet day and we also spent time picking up the house getting it ready to sell.

The fourth week in June was busy busy busy.  We met with realtors, cleaned carpets, painted and painted and painted, decluttered, looked at houses, looked at preschools, looked at job offers, etc.  Andrew and Seth had twilight camp for cub scouts each evening so they were gone from 6 - 9+ for that every night.  Lots of fun, lots of bug bites, really late nights.  Logan had his kindergarten assessment at Ridgewood.  Andrew had a doctor appointment.  Logan got a fever and croup and was sick for a few days.  It rained quite a lot, almost every day, so we didn't get to pool or much places with a sick kid.  We checked out a new grocery store in town, Lidl, and enjoyed the pastries.  Friday night, we all went and saw the cub scout skits and also had a nice dinner.

Saturday was Seth's birthday.  We started the day with presents, streamers, and a birthday cupcake.  Seth got lots of video games and some books and a ball for the pool.  We then got ready to go to his baptism and picked up the house so someone could come help us clean so we can get caught up.  Seth's baptism was great - tons of people came - I gave the talk on baptism, Andrew gave the talk on the Holy Ghost, everything went well, we had brownies and cookies, and then we went home.  The boys played video games for a bit and then we went to a going away party for friends in the ward and had some pizza.  The boys played video games pretty much all afternoon while Logan took a nap (must have still been recovering I guess because he never takes naps).  We went to Golden Corral for dinner at Seth's specific request.  Everyone had fun.  Seth played enormous amounts of screens.  Everyone was happy.
